Hen Nights at Ston Easton Park
If the thought of a traditional ‘Hen Do’ makes you cringe, fear not – because Ston Easton Park has created the “Ultimate Girls Night In” package! There are so many options, not least because the beautiful Somerset setting lends itself perfectly to a wonderful weekend away with the girls.
One option is a super hollywood glamour portrait shoot. Our brilliant make-up artist, Vicki Waghorn works with me to create the perfect look for a hollywood glamour photoshoot. The bedrooms provide a great backdrop and with hollywood glamour in mind, the poses leave much more to the imagination than is revealed. Contact us here at Andrew Jackson Photography and we can talk through the details…
But if a photo shot wasn’t quite what you had in mind, how about taking part in Life Drawing Classes with a hot male model, or enjoying a Pink Champagne Afternoon Tea in one of their sumptuous lounges. Alternatively, Ston Easton can arrange dance lessons, hot air balloon rides, vintage hair & make-up lessons or a wine tasting before dinner. So many options…
Ston Easton offers either a bed & breakfast package or dinner, bed & breakfast package based on eight girls (or more) sharing twin rooms. Bed & breakfast rates from £65.00 per person per night or dinner, bed & breakfast from £102.50 per person per night. Your Guide to Wedding Photography 1: Here Come The Boys!
Girls, wouldn’t you just love some gorgeous shots of your man on your wedding day? This is the one part of the day that you won’t get to share and so to see your man and his mates getting ready makes for a great chapter in the album. Continue reading
Andrew Jackson Photography & Olympian Weddings
When Five Rings Become two… firstly, big congratulations to everyone involved with Team GB & the Olympics. The athletes have delivered some awesome performances over the past few weeks and I’m sure we’re going to see even more amazing feats at the Para Olympic Games in a couple of weeks. Its not just the great medal count but in the actual delivery too – doesn’t it feel great that such a big event has been delivered so successfully on the world stage?
Secondly, extra congratulations go to all those Olympic athletes who are now swapping five rings for two and are planning their weddings! Over recent days, the press interviews have revealed quite a number of engagements and proposals, so it does seem that training programmes have been exchanged for wedding planning! It would be very special to look after the wedding photography so, Olympians, whether you are planning your day for Bristol, Bath, the Cotswold’s or beyond, do please give me a call – it would be lovely if we can show our appreciation with a great set of pictures for you.
The Essential Wedding Show at Ston Easton Park
The Essential Wedding Show takes place on Sunday, 30th September at Ston Easton Park, a beautiful venue ideal for Bristol, Bath & Somerset brides. As with all the best ideas, The Essential Wedding Show (TEWS as its affectionately known) started with a glass of bubbly and a moan (the moans had less calories than the canapes) – a moan about had bad most wedding fairs had become. Andrew Jackson: Beautiful Wedding Photography in Bristol
I’ve been meaning to blog this picture for ages… I love it, but I can’t quite pin down why I like it so much. It might be because I love the body language and the shape of the picture; it might be because Anna & Rob’s wedding at Hotel du Vin, Bristol was such a pleasure to share with them or maybe it is the tone of the stone work that sets off the dress so well. Anyway, I love it and thought it was worth sharing – hope you like it!
Perfect Pre-Wedding Portraits
Regular readers of this blog (did you notice the optimism of the plural there?) (hello, mum!) will know that I’m a big fan of pre-wed portrait shoots. The pre-wedding portrait session is an ideal opportunity to get to know each other a little better so that on the day, creating wonderful pictures together feels a more natural and easy process. Continue reading
Andrew Jackson Photography & Civil Partnerships
The sharp eyed amongst you will have spotted a gap in our beautiful website … namely, that there is very little mention of civil partnerships. So right from the start, can I say that if you are planning your civil partnership, we would be delighted to hear from you and that you’ll receive a very warm welcome. Continue reading
Priston Mill Wedding
Congratulations to Shelley & Matt, who married at Priston Mill recently. A wonderful day, not least because it was the sunniest, driest day in what feels the last month! Lots of wonderful details (the sweet shop was brilliant!), lots of smiles and a lovely mix of guests too – a perfect day. It was a real pleasure to share your day with you – congratulations to you both!
Andrew Jackson Photography: Wedding Advice
Reading through one of the wedding magazines (“Unique Bride” – www.uniquebridemagazine.com) (great magazine, BTW!), I came across what could be the best advice I have heard in ten years of capturing weddings… Continue reading
Andrew Jackson Weddings: Perfect Touches
I’ve been capturing weddings for the past 10 years or more now, and I’m always amazed by just how different every wedding day is, even though by convention, the starting point is pretty much the same. Often it is the attention to detail that help a couple make the day unique – quite simply, it is the details that can become “the icing on the cake” … talking of cakes (did you see what I did there?), the ‘vintage wedding’ themed cake table at the Beechfield House wedding I mentioned yesterday was awesome – best cakes / presentation ever – hats off to Emily – good work! So I’m posting these as inspiration; hope you like them.
